America’s “B” Team Should still win at Basketball World Championships

America’s “B” Team Should still win at Basketball World Championships.  The attention at the sportsbook won’t be as high on the World Championships since top players like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant won’t be playing for the United States but the “B” team is still pretty good. There won’t likely be odds at the sports book on the games until the final round but that doesn’t mean there isn’t an interest.

Sportsbook bettors at SBGGlobal like the NBA and when some of the best players in the world are on the court they are going to pay attention.  And don’t forget that the U.S. is coached by Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski. The World Championships begin next week and the U.S. team should have little trouble until the final round. The U.S. defeated France 86-55 on Monday in an exhibition.

NBA Stars:  The U.S. team may not have LeBron or Kobe but they still have some great players like Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant and Chicago’s Derrick Rose. The U.S. team will not have any players who played in the Olympic gold medal game in 2008 against Spain but that doesn’t mean they can’t win.  Durant is a superstar scorer and Rose is as good a guard as there is in the NBA.  The team also has Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala, Denver’s Chauncey Billups and Boston’s Rajon Rondo. Memphis’ Rudy Gay had 19 points in the win against France and he came off the bench. The U.S. is so deep that they can bring Rose off the bench along with other players like the Lakers Lamar Odom, Indiana’s Danny Granger and Golden State’s Stephen Curry. The U.S. may not have the star power but they have a lot of very good players.

Spain may be the toughest team for the U.S. to beat but Spain is going to be without their best player as Pau Gasol is resting this summer.  Greece could also be a tough team as they have a lot of veterans.

Schedule: The World Championships begin next Saturday but the real competitive games vs. sports book odds won’t be until September 4th when the round of 16 begins. The America’s quarterfinals are on September 8th and 9th with the semifinals on September 11th. The Championship game and third place game will be played on September 12th.
