USC Losing Players for Bowl Game Sportsbetting

Sportsbetting might not be as popular on USC as it could have been as the Trojans place Boston College on Saturday in the Emerald Bowl. The Trojans had three players ruled academically ineligible and they are still dealing with the controversy surrounding running back Joe McKnight. USC is still favored though in sportsbetting online odds over Boston College.

Sportsbetting has the Trojans being with out tight end Anthony McCoy, offensive tackle Tyron Smith and defensive tackle Averell Spicer. All three players didn’t make grades and are out. McCoy and Smith are both starters so they will be missed. They earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors this sportsbetting season. Spicer is also a player that sees a lot of action as a reserve. “We’re really disappointed these guys didn’t come through,” USC coach Pete Carroll said, “They had all the help in the world to get it done and they didn’t do it.”

This is just the latest problem for USC in sportsbetting. The team has been dealing with the mess surrounding running back Joe McKnight who has been accused of using a 2006 Land Rover that belonged to a Santa Monica businessman. That could be an NCAA rules violation which would mean McKnight would not be able to play in the bowl game. The Los Angeles Times has said that McCoy has been seen driving the car although McKnight has denied it. USC is investigating the situation themselves before getting the NCAA involved. Sportsbetting online indicates that USC has a lot of things hanging over the program. The school is already under NCAA investigation for allegations that Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo received improper benefits while they attended USC. The dynasty that was USC has definitely taken a hit in recent sportsbetting seasons and it doesn’t look to be getting any better.

The loss of McKnight would be another huge blow to USC in sportsbetting online as the Trojans are not as good or as deep as past seasons. The Trojans will be looking at using Rhett Ellison to replace McCoy in this sportsbetting game while redshirt freshman Matt Kalil will replace Smith.

USC is a 7.5 point sportsbetting favorite in the Emerald Bowl on Saturday against Boston College. The total on the game in sportsbetting online is 44. ESPN will be showing this game from AT&T Park in San Francisco on Saturday night.
