Internet Sports Betting – Tennessee Football Players Arrested

Internet sports betting could see the Tennessee Volunteers go downhill fast the rest of the college football season. Three of their players were arrested on Thursday, two of which were highly recruited freshman.  The Vols are 5.5 point underdogs in offshore sports betting this week at Mississippi.

Internet sports betting had seen Tennessee go 5-4 straight up this season and a profitable 6-3 against the offshore sports betting odds. The Volunteers could be in trouble now though in offshore sports betting because of the negative publicity and attention.  Safety Janzen Jackson, receiver Nu’Keese Richardson and defensive back Mike Edwards were arrested Thursday on charges of attempted armed robbery.  A Knoxville police report had the players attempting a robbery outside a convenience store near the Tennessee campus.

A pellet gun was recovered in the players’ car.  A woman who was said to be driving the car was also arrested. “At this time we are currently evaluating the circumstances surrounding an incident involving Mike Edwards, Janzen Jackson and Nu’Keese Richardson,” Tennessee athletic director Mike Hamilton said, “Any decisions or comments regarding their status will not be made until the evaluations are complete.”

This is a huge blow to Tennessee in sports betting and to head coach Lane Kiffin. Recently, Kiffin was quoted as saying how well his team was doing this season in terms of off-the-field issues.  He has said many times that Tennessee players were staying out of trouble. This incident may severely damage his ability to recruit players.

The loss of Jackson will hurt Tennessee in Internet sports betting.  He had started in most of the games for the Vols this Internet sports betting season.  He had been one of the best freshman players in the conference as Internet sports betting stats showed.  He did violate team rules though and missed last week’s sports betting contest against Memphis. Richardson scored a touchdown in the 56-28 sports betting win over Memphis last week. Richardson is the player that Tennessee took away from Florida on signing day.

Tennessee is 5-4 this Internet sports betting season and needs one more win to get bowl eligible.  They may need two Internet sports betting wins since this negative publicity may hurt their chances if they are just a 6-6 team.  Tennessee has this week’s game at Mississippi followed by winnable games in sports betting at home against Vanderbilt and at Kentucky.  Winning two of the three games in offshore sports betting may now be a necessity for the Vols.
