USC Continues to Make Online Sports Betting News

USC continues to make news in online sports betting. The Trojans have announced that former quarterback Pat Haden will replace athletic director Mike Garrett and the school also announced that they are returning the Heisman Trophy won by Reggie Bush in 2005. Gamblers can still bet on USC games this season in offshore sports betting although the Trojans will not be playing in the postseason.

Online sports betting odds will not include USC on the futures board since the Trojans can’t go to a bowl game.  USC could still win the Pac-10 this season though since they still have a lot of returning talent.  The future for the Trojans is not bright though since they will be losing a number of scholarships as part of the NCAA sanctions handed down to the school.

USC has made a good hire in Pat Haden as he will restore credibility to the program. The Trojans may not win as many games but with Haden they will be a team that has integrity. The school has major problems under Garrett that involved Reggie Bush and O.J. Mayo. The NCAA hit USC with harsh penalties and cited the University for a “Lack of institutional control.”  USC will be making numerous changes in addition to replacing Garrett as athletic director.  They are taking down murals featuring Bush and Mayo and they are making other personnel changes.  USC was hit with a two-year bowl ban, loss of scholarships and the loss of wins.  USC appealed some of the penalties but they have virtually no chance of winning an appeal against the NCAA.

Haden has an impressive resume that made him an easy choice for USC. He is an analyst for Notre Dame Football on NBC. He is a Rhodes Scholar, a general partner in Riordan, Lewis & Haden and he was on the USC Board of Trustees. He will now step down from the Board of Trustees and be part of the school’s business and communications faculty.

It is hard to know what to expect from USC this season. The team has lost some players who have transferred to other schools but for the most part they return most of last year’s squad.  The Trojans play in a Pac-10 that is not nearly as strong as the SEC, Big 12 or Big 10 and USC is capable of winning the conference.  The Trojans won’t be in a bowl game but they will be favored in offshore sports betting in most of their games this season
