Sports Betting Totals at SBG Global

When two high scoring teams get together the sportsbetting total is set higher.Don’t forget to look at totals when you are betting sports this year.Sportsbetting totals are where you are betting sports over or under the amount of points, goals or runs in a game. For example, if you saw on the college sportsbetting board a number such as 42 next to the matchup between the Kansas Jayhawks and Nebraska Cornhuskers, you would have the option of betting that the combined score between the teams to go over or under 42.

Keep in mind with over/under sportsbetting that the winner of the game and the pointspread is totally irrelevant. The only thing that matters is the combined final score as you are betting sports totals. Sports betting totals can be just as exciting as pointspread wagering.  In our previous example, if Kansas won 17-10, the combined score is 27, making our example game an under in sports betting. If Nebraska won the game 17-10, it’s the same story, and the under is paid.

Just as is the case with all forms of sportsbetting, such as pointspreads, the over/under sports betting lines are not based on pure merit but are instead based on public perception as the oddsmakers are trying to post a number that will attract equal sportsbetting action on both the over and the under.

If two high scoring teams are in a matchup, for example, the betting public is likely thinking “over.” The oddsmakers will know this, of course, and make the over/under sportsbetting line high, in anticipation of that rush of bettors on the over. This means that high scoring games can and do go under, and low scoring games, conversely, can and do go over when you are betting sports. Snow and rain games in football, for example, will attract a lot of under betting activity so the oddsmakers will set the over/under sportsbetting lines even lower than usual, in anticipation of the “weathermen” betting on the games going under.
