Sports Betting Preview of the Fedex Cup

Sports betting fans have never really welcomed the sport of professional golf as one its own. Sure people would take the online sportsbetting odds and hope for the best but it’s not as if the PGA headlined any list of sportsbetting odds.  But that’s all beginning to change thanks to the creation of the FedEx Cup and the incredible sports betting competition that it’s created within the world of professional golf.

Sportsbetting first welcomed this interesting twist on a very traditional sport in 2007.  While it hasn’t been perfect in either of its two years of existence, the FedEx Cup has created a sports betting buzz that gets stronger and stronger ever year.  As online sports betting fans will recall, the first year the FedEx Cup was in play the sportsbetting favorite Tiger Woods dominated the event without much effort.  In fact, Woods was far ahead in terms of points that most of the other top golfers in the sportsbetting odds even bothered.  It was a forgone conclusion who the winner would be and for that reason the online sportsbetting finale lacked any drama.

And last year the event also failed to attract the type of attention from the online sportsbetting it aims to cultivate due to the fact that Woods was injured and unable to compete in the sports betting playoff events.  Many sports betting fans probably aren’t even aware that Vijay Singh was last year’s champ and winner of an extra $10 million.  With that type of purse on the line it’s easy to see why so many top players are interested in this sports betting competition and why the action is so great.

This year with Tiger healthy and the FedEx Cup race very hotly contested, the online sportsbetting world should the best FedEx Cup playoff in the brief history of the sports betting event.  Points are awarded for top placement in a number of regular season PGA events and the top 125 golfers in points will qualify to play in the four event playoff.  And the FedEx Cup playoffs is where the real sportsbetting action begins.

It’s likely that Tiger will dominate the sports betting in the playoffs events, just as he does everything else on the PGA Tour.  But there’s also the possibility that some one else will take the trophy, the money and the sports betting odds and that’s what makes this sports betting golf extravaganza so interesting.
