Sports Betting Online – Worst Season Debut Ever for Tiger.  Will the sports betting online oddsmakers ever learn? Tiger Woods was heavily favored again this past week at the Farmers Insurance Open but he was never a factor finishing well back of winner Bubba Watson.

We have said for more than a year now that Tiger is extremely overvalued in sports betting and after his worst ever season debut perhaps more people will start to realize that fact.

Worst Debut Ever
There is no question that Tiger Woods is not the golfer he once was. Whether he will ever regain his top form is in question. Before this week at Torrey Pines, Woods had never finished out of the Top 10 in a PGA event at Torrey Pines.  Woods did nothing over the weekend as he shot 74-75 to finish in a tie for 44th. Tiger had never finished out of the Top 10 in a season debut in stroke play to start a season.  His worst result was in the Match Play Championship which was two years ago but that was not a stroke play event.

Woods is Still Overvalued
Until Tiger proves he can make putts you simply can’t be him to win a golf tournament.  He is favored in every tournament he is in as the public and oddsmakers still think Tiger is the player he was years ago. Woods has not won for over a year and it doesn’t take much to understand why. He can’t make a clutch putt anymore and his swing is still erratic.  You don’t win on the PGA Tour if you can’t putt.

What Will his Odds Be?
You can probably guess the answer to this one just like I can.  Despite what we have said for more than a year, Tiger will probably be favored in sports betting online golf odds at the Sbg sportsbook when he tees it up in two weeks for the Dubai Desert Classic. He has won there twice and has never finished out of the top five but those numbers are meaningless.  He had owned Torrey Pines before this week and it was obvious watching him that he does not have his golf game in condition to win. Whether that will happen sometime this year, or ever is in question.
