Sports Betting: NHL Back to Work on Monday

Sports betting NHL action is back on the board on Monday as the Colorado Avalanche host the Detroit Red Wings. The NHL took at break for the Winter Olympics but it is back to work now.  There is only one game on the Internet sports betting board for Monday but a plethora of games on Tuesday.

Sports betting should be busy in the NHL on Tuesday with 24 teams in action.  Sports betting scheduling for Tuesday had Montreal at Boston, Carolina at Toronto, Chicago at the New York Islanders, Florida at Atlanta, Vancouver at Columbus, the New York Rangers at Ottawa, Buffalo at Pittsburgh, Philadelphia at Tampa Bay, Edmonton at Nashville, Los Angeles at Dallas, St. Louis at Phoenix and New Jersey at San Jose.

The question to answer in sports betting is how the Olympics and the break will affect each team in sports betting.  The Washington Capitals have the most points in the NHL with 90 and they lead the Eastern Conference. San Jose has the most points in the Western Conference with 89. The Capitals have a huge lead in the East as they lead New Jersey by 13 points so it is likely they will end up with the top seed.  The rest of the seeds are up for grabs in sports betting in the East.  New Jersey is just a point ahead of Ottawa and Pittsburgh and just two ahead of Buffalo.

It is even more bunched up at the bottom in Internet sports betting where seven teams are within nine points for the last playoff spot.  In reality it is 12 points from 7th to 14th place in the East so anything is possible in Internet sports betting.  Philadelphia, Boston and Montreal hold the spots at the moment but Tampa Bay and the Rangers are just one point back while Atlanta is two points out.  Florida and yes, the Islanders are just six points out while Carolina is nine points back.

The West has San Jose just two points ahead of Chicago for the top spot.  Phoenix, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Colorado are in decent shape in sports betting.  Nashville is in 7th and they are just two points ahead of Calgary. The West is far from decided at the bottom in Internet sports betting as Dallas and Detroit are just one point out of a playoff spot behind Calgary. Anaheim is just two points back while St. Louis is four back. Minnesota is five points back and even Columbus is not out of it in sports betting at nine points back.
