Sports Betting Fans Watching Haynesworth Soap Opera

Sports betting fans are watching the latest soap opera with the Washington Redskins as the situation with All-Pro defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is getting worse by the day. Haynesworth skipped the team’s mandatory minicamp and demanded a trade.  The Redskins are considered a contender in the NFC East in sports betting online odds with a new head coach and a new quarterback and they would like to have a productive Haynesworth as well.

Sports betting odds in the NFC East are going to be very competitive this year with the Cowboys, Giants, Redskins and Eagles battling it out.  Haynesworth could help the Redskins but it seems unlikely that he will be playing for the team.  His teammates are calling him selfish for his holdout and the team is now looking at going after some of the money they have already paid Haynesworth.

Haynesworth didn’t report to the minicamp because he doesn’t want to play in the new defensive alignment. His teammates have had enough of him and would rather he not come back at all. His teammates feel betrayed and they are simply sick of the egotistical Haynesworth. The Redskins paid Haynesworth a $21 million dollar bonus in April and they were expecting him to be at the minicamp. The Redskins can fine Haynesworth for not being at the camp but the fines are a drop in the bucket compared to what Haynesworth is making.

The decision by Haynesworth to skip minicamp was a bad one.  It was only a two-day camp and now he has alienated his teammates and his coaches.  Washington head coach Mike Shanahan did not say what the Redskins will do next but that they will do something.  They could release him, try and trade him or keep him on the roster and see what happens when training camp begins in late July. If he does return, it seems unlikely that players will want him on the field.  They feel he has betrayed them and they want no part of him anymore.

It should be an interesting training camp for the Redskins and Washington is a team to watch in sports betting NFL odds. They have a new head coach in Shanahan, a new quarterback in Donovan McNabb and a lot of optimism.  What they don’t need is Haynesworth screwing things up.
