The NFL supplemental draft was held on Thursday and sports betting fans noted two players who were selected. The Chicago Bears took BYU running back Harvey Unga while Dallas selected Illinois defensive end Joshua Price-Brent.  Players from the supplemental draft don’t impact Internet sports betting odds that often but Unga is at least has a chance to do something in the NFL.

Sports betting fans followed Unga while he was at BYU.  He was the Cougars leading rusher and many NFL scouts believe he can play in the NFL and make a difference.  The Bears took him in the seventh round of the supplemental draft. Dallas took Price-Brent in the seventh round as well. That means that Chicago and Dallas will lose their seventh-round draft picks in next year’s regular NFL Draft. The supplemental draft is for players who missed the NFL Draft for one reason or another.  Sports betting numbers indicated that since it was started in 1977, a total of 40 players have been selected.

Many sports betting fans believe that Unga could have a solid NFL career. The Bears took a chance on him.  Unga carried 692 times for 3,446 yards and 35 touchdowns in his career at BYU.  He rushed for over 1,000 yards in there straight seasons for BYU and he can catch the ball out of the backfield.  He is ready for an NFL system right now and he has the ability to not only make the Bears, but to get playing time.  Internet sports betting information indicated that there were a number of NFL teams that considered taking Unga in the supplemental draft.  Unga withdrew from BYU in April as he violated the school’s honor code.  Unga is solid player with character though as his violation seemed to surround his relationship with his fiancé as BYU has a strict code involving premarital relations.

The Cowboys took a flyer on Price-Brent with a supplemental pick.  He played defensive tackle at Illinois but the Cowboys will try him at defensive end. Sports betting information indicates that they might also try him at nose tackle.  The question with Price-Brent is his character but the Cowboys thought he was worth the risk.  Dallas took a chance with Dez Bryant in the regular NFL Draft and they don’t seem to be too worried about players who have character questions.
