Sports betting fans betting on the NFL’s Buffalo Bills would have been a very rare sight even a few months ago. But with an impressive start to the 2008 season, many fans are laying down cash on the Bills in the start. With a shake up of sorts going on in the AFC East the team from Buffalo would seem to have a legitimate shot at the NFL playoffs.
Sports in the NFL is as unpredictable as it is in any sport and two games hardly makes a season. But, that being said, it’s hard not deny how impressive the young Bills have looked in their early sports match ups. It’s not as if the Bills have been playing powder-puff opponents. The team thoroughly trounced the Seahawks on their home turf and then traveled to a very physical Jacksonville and whipped a supposed AFC sports playoff lock.
Granted the Seahawks were playing on the road with a depleted receiving corps but the win was nonetheless impressive and one that not many sports analysts predicted. Nor did the sports betting odds favor the Bills against the Jags, a very good team that is having some problems out of the blocks. Discerning fans could probably find other flaws in their victories as well, but in sports, the only thing that matters is who wins. And the Bills won.
Even better for sports fans aligned with the Bills, there is plenty of reason to think that they might keep on winning, perhaps even all the way to the sports betting playoffs. With Tom Brady’s injury, the Pats’ lock on the division now seems somewhat weaker. That may create just enough hope to convince the team they are playoff caliber. With the Dolphins on schedule twice, that means two automatic sports wins in the division. The Jets look awfully soft as well and that could be two more division wins against the sports betting odds.
On top of that, the Bills’ scheduled matches with the lowly AFC West should produce three more wins in the sports betting for them. If this team can split with the Pats and win 75% of their non-division games (very doable considering some of the weak sports betting match ups) it will be featured in the post season sports odds.
