Sports Betting – Drivers Predict a Lot of Crashes at Indy 500. The drivers are predicting a number of crashes for Sunday’s race because of the double-file restarts. Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon are the co-favorites in online sports betting online at the Sbg sportsbook.

Double-File Restarts
The big issue for Sunday’s Indy 500 is the double-file restarts.  Owners wanted the double-file restarts for this season and IndyCar gave in to their request despite the objections of drivers.  Many drivers have called the restarts really stupid and a recipe for disaster.  IndyCar hasn’t really cared about what the drivers have said though.  The drivers are being told to be prepared for the tight corners and they are being told where to accelerate before the first corner.  IndyCar changed the rules this season because owners wanted things changed.

More Crashes
The opening few laps of the Indy 500 are almost assuredly going to feature a few wrecks.  When IndyCar was at St. Petersburg there were four cautions in the first 14 laps.  A total of five cars had trouble on the first turn. IndyCar has made some adjustments in the last few races and things have improved but drivers are very worried about the Indy 500.  Point’s leader Will Power said that he is more concerned about the last couple of restarts of the race since they will likely decide the winner.  Tomas Scheckter is predicting that there will be some crashes on Sunday.  It is almost a guarantee that drivers will not make it past the first lap without someone doing something dumb.  This is not the same IndyCar of 20 years ago.  Too many drivers like Danica Patrick, Ed Carptenter, Graham Rahal and John Andretti are simply not very good and they make mistakes.
