Sports betting companies favor Brock Lesnar on Saturday as he faces Shane Carwin in UFC 116 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lesnar is the heavyweight champion while Carwin is the interim title holder.  Lesnar is a -170 favorite in sportsbetting odds in this title bout against Carwin.

Sports betting companies are expecting great action on UFC 116 because of the headline bout between Lesnar and Carwin.  Also on the main card is a bout between Yoshihiro Akiyama and Chris Leben.  The big draw though is the fight between Lesnar and Carwin. Lesnar absolutely destroyed opponents before suffering an illness that forced him to miss almost a year of action.  This fight on Saturday marks his return to the Octagon. Lesnar last fought at UFC 100 but he developed diverticulosis that caused him to be out of action for a long time.   He is very ready to return on Saturday and resume his dominance of the heavyweight division.

Lesnar has been able to simply overpower his opponents in the past but that might prove difficult against Carwin.  This is a huge test for Lesnar considering he has been out of action for nearly a year. Carwin has won all of his fights by knockout or TKO’s and the winner of this fight is likely to get a knockout or a TKO.  Both fighters will look to pound each other so the bout should be exciting.  Carwin has been waiting a long time for this bout and he is definitely capable of pulling off the sportsbetting upset.

The main card also has Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Chris Leben, George Sotiropoulos battling Kurt Pellegrino, Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown and Stephan Bonnar vs. Krzysztof Soszynski.  The bout between Leben and Akiyama should be interesting with Leben trying to pull off the upset. Leben doesn’t believe that Akiyama has the wrestling ability or the knockout power to beat him.

The preliminary card begins with two fights that can be seen on Spike TV as Brendan Schaub battles Chris Tuchscherer and Seth Petruzelli faces Ricardo Romero.  The rest of the undercard has Goran Reljic vs. Kendall Grove, Gerald Harris vs. Dave Branch, Jon Madsen vs. Karlos Vemola and Daniel Roberts vs. Forrest Petz.
