Online sports betting during the NFL pre-season is a great time for sportsbetting gamblers. With so many teams making changes, NFL preseason can be somewhat unpredictable in online sports betting but it is still fun.  Here is a look at some things to consider as you handicap the 2009 NFL pre-season.

Online sports betting records can be important to consider in the preseason. Many professional sportsbetting gamblers begin their NFL betting year by starting with the pre-season. Let’s look at some of the NFL betting trends that could be helpful as the pre-season begins.

Teams that have done well in the past in online sports betting in the preseason have been Tennessee, Denver, New England, Baltimore and Green Bay.  The Broncos have a new coach so some caution is advised with Denver in online sports betting action in the 2009 preseason. The Titans under Jeff Fisher have been solid, the Patriots with Bill Belichick are usually good and John Harbaugh looks to care about the pre-season in Baltimore as does Mike McCarthy with the Packers.

Teams that struggled in online sports betting action recently in the preseason are Houston, Seattle, St. Louis, Detroit, Cincinnati and the Giants.  A couple of online sports betting notes with those teams.  Seattle, St. Louis and Detroit have new head coaches so their online sports betting results should be monitored in 2009.  The Texans with Gary Kubiak may continue to struggle in the preseason and Marvin Lewis has never done that well in the preseason.  Tom Couglin has almost always had a losing record in pre-season games with the Giants.

An interesting sportsbetting trend to consider in the pre-season is taking teams coming off two straight preseason losses.  Look at the standings when you are considering making an online betting wager.  Look at teams that are 0-2 and take them in Week 3 of the NFL preseason in online sports betting.  Those teams have hit well over 50% through the years in online sports betting.  Rarely does a team want to have a winless preseason and if a team loses in Week 3 they would face that prospect in Week 4 when their starters don’t play much.

Keep some of these sportsbetting facts in mind as you handicap the NFL preseason this year. Remember that trends are helpful in online sports betting, but they should be only one part of your overall handicapping process.
