Take a guess as to which team has the worst record in all of baseball against the Internet sports betting odds.
You might be surprised to learn that it is the Chicago White Sox. Sometimes in sports betting you can see failure coming but in the case of the White Sox almost no one saw it coming.
White Sox 11-21
Chicago goes into Friday night’s game with the worst record in baseball at 11-21. This is a Chicago team that was one of the favorites at Sbg global to win the American League Central this season. Nothing has gone right for Chicago so far this season and it got so bad on Tuesday that they were actually no-hit by Minnesota’s Francisco Liriano who entered the game with an ERA of over nine and had never even thrown a complete game in his career.
Nothing is Working
Manager Ozzie Guillen has tried virtually everything to get his team going but nothing has worked. He even got himself ejected last week but that didn’t even spark the team. Guillen has said that he expected his team to be good enough to compete for the division title. General manager Ken Williams is not considering a coaching change but something has to be done. Much of the struggles are simply mystifying. The only player that is hitting over .300 is Brent Lillibridge and he is a bench player. Adam Dunn has been a massive free agent bust so far as he has just three home runs and is hitting a pathetic .153. Alex Rios is hitting just .184. The bullpen has been a mess. Chicago did not re-sign closer Bobby Jenks and it was a mistake. Matt Thornton has already blown four saves and Chris Sales was no better. The starting pitching hasn’t been that bad and John Danks might be the best 0-5 pitcher in baseball. It is hard to win games though with an offense that is averaging just 3.8 runs per game.
Nine-Game Road Trip
Maybe going on the road will help Chicago as it can’t get much worse for a team that has lost 17 of their last 21 games. Chicago has been a streaky team in the past in Internet sports betting so perhaps things will turn around. Last year they won 25 of 30 games at one point.
