Oklahoma Needs Win Sooner Rather Than Later Sportsbetting

Sportsbetting expectations were sky high on the Oklahoma Sooners as they entered the 2009 season as one of the sports betting online favorites to win it all. Sportsbetting handicappers saw an Oklahoma team that would enter the 2009 sports betting online season with Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford and 9 returning defensive starters.

Oklahoma demonstrated how quickly sportsbetting fortunes can change as they have not been the same since Bradford went down to injury during the first half of their sports betting online opener against BYU which the Sooners lost 13-14 as whopping 22.5-point favorites in a game played at Cowboys Stadium.

After their sportsbetting loss to BYU the Sooners won and covered at home against Idaho State and Tulsa which set up a pivotal sportsbetting matchup last week at Miami against the resurgent Hurricanes. The Sooners lost to the Canes 20-21 as 7.5-point sportsbetting road favorites to kill off any hope of a national title.

Meanwhile Bradford is still healing from the injury to his right shoulder. He is hoping to get back into action Saturday against Baylor but his status is still uncertain. Bradford could have come out early for the NFL draft after his Heisman sportsbetting campaign of last year but has no regrets. He also has not given up on the Sooners running the sports betting online table and getting into the national title game.

“You say the national championship is out of the picture, but what happens if we win nine straight games and we win the Big 12? There’s still a possibility,” said Bradford.

Bradford’s status for this week should be determined on Thursday. He admitted that surgery may be required some time down the line.

“Obviously that’s a concern and it’s something that I’ve talked to my family about and I’ve talked to our coaches and something I’ve talked to the doctors about. But I still think it’s down the road,” said the Sooner QB.

Oklahoma’s offense has suffered without Bradford as it ranks a dismal 43rd nationally in passing.

Bradford said the injury coupled with the loss to Miami has made for the most frustrating time of his career.

If Bradford cannot go against Baylor he would then try to answer the bell the following week in OU’s Red River Rivalry matchup against Texas.
