NASCAR has a mini-break this week as it is All-Star weekend for everyone including online sports betting gamblers.There will be a couple of races to wager on though as the Sprint Showdown is Saturday night in offshore sports betting followed by the Sprint All-Star race.

Not everyone makes the All-Star race as only certain drivers will qualify. It makes it a race for the best drivers in NASCAR without all of the slower cars in the race. In the race this year will be Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, David Reutimann, Jamie McMurray, Mark Martin, Kasey Kahne, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte, Brian Vickers (out), Dale Earnhardt Jr., plus the winner of the Sprint Showdown and the fan vote winner.
The All-Star race features a 10-lap shootout as the final segment. The first part of the race is 50 laps with a mandatory pit stop on lap 25. The next two segments are 20 laps each with a 10-minute break prior to the final segment.
Normally drivers up front do well in this race but two years ago when Kahne won he started 24th. It is the only time a driver has started outside the top-20 and won the All-Star race. Offshore sports betting stats indicated that Jeff Gordon is the leading active driver with three wins in this race. Qualifying for this race is based on a three-lap time trial that includes a four tire pit stop. Bill Elliott is the all-time leader with five poles. The pole sitter has won this race only three times and not since 1992.
After this weekend’s All-Star race, the next Sprint Cup series race is the Coca-Cola 600 on May 30th. That is the same day as the Indianapolis 500 and in recent years the Coca-Cola 600 has actually been the more popular race among fans.
