Online sports betting had a couple of baseball moves happening this past week as the New York Mets signed pitcher Kevim Escobar while the Washington Nationals signed Matt Capps. Both of these sportsbetting moves should help the Mets and Nationals next season. Online sports betting had Escobar possibly moving into the setup role for the Mets while Capps could become the closer in Washington.

Escobar has been a starter for the most part but the Mets are looking at him as a reliever for next online sports betting season. “With Escobar, we are looking at him as a reliever.” New York general manager Omar Minaya said. The deal for Escobar is for one online sports betting year for just over a million per year plus incentives.

The incentives include $2 million for the amount of games pitched and another $1 million on games finished. He probably won’t finish many online sports betting games since the Mets have Francisco Rodriguez as their closer. Escobar hasn’t pitched much lately as online sports betting indicated because of injury. He was 18-7 with a 3.40 ERA in 30 online sports betting starts in 2007. Online sports betting had his career ERA at 4.15. The Mets would like to get a solid setup man for Rodriguez and they are hoping that Escobar can fill that role next sportsbetting season.

In other online sports betting news, the Washington Nationals have signed Matt Capps to a one-year deal for next season. The Nationals are looking at using Capps as the closer next sportsbetting season. The deal is for $3.5 million for the 2010 online sports betting year. Capps was looking at deciding between three teams, the Cubs, the Mets and the Nationals. Capps wanted the chance to close and that is one of the reasons he went with the Nationals. “He’s very confident in his ability,” Capp’s agent Paul Kinser said, “He knows next year he will go to arbitration and he’s extremely confident that at that point that Washington will want to offer a one-year deal at that time. Matt is very happy with his decision. Although the conversation with the Cubs and Mets made it difficult, he decided this was the best way to go.” Capps pitched well and impacted online sports betting with the Pirates. He had 66 saves from 2007 through 2009 with Pittsburgh as sportsbetting stats showed.
