Sports Betting – Marquardt Favored against Okami at UFC 122 on Saturday

December 1, 2010 Sports Betting

UFC 122 takes place this Saturday from Oberhausen, Germany with Nate Marquardt favored in sports betting against Yushin Okami.

That bout is the headliner but there are also 10 other fights also on the sports betting online card for UFC 122. Let’s take a look at the feature bout between Marquardt and Okami and also see who else is fighting on Saturday.

Marquardt -230 at Sbg global
Much of the action is on Marquardt in this fight against Okami as he is more than a 2-1 favorite. This was supposed to be a fight between Okami and Vitor Belfort but Belfort is set to face Anderson Silva early next year for the UFC middleweight title so Marquardt steps in.  The winner of this fight will likely get a chance at Silva assuming he beats Belfort.

Marquardt the Edge in Power
There is not much doubt that Marquardt would like to keep the fight upright as he has more power than Okami. On the ground it could be Okami that has the edge but not by much.  Still, the best chance for Okami is to stay away from Marquardt’s power and fight on the ground. The one advantage for Okami is that Marquardt has not had a lot of time to prepare for this fight but it may not matter.  Marquardt looks focused to get another shot against Silva and it doesn’t look like Okami really has enough to win this fight.
