Galaxy Surging in MLS Sports Betting

The best team in sports betting so far this season in the MLS has been the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Heading into Saturday’s game against Toronto the Galaxy are unbeaten in their first eight matches of the season.  The Galaxy have been a very good team for those taking them in Internet sports betting but caution should be advised after Saturday’s game.

Sports betting odds may not favor the Galaxy nearly as much after Saturday because the Galaxy will be losing two of their best players to the United States World Cup team.  Landon Donovan and Edson Buddle will join the World Cup team so it will be up to other players to pick up the slack until they return.  Forward Alan Gordon, defenders Todd Dunivant and Omar Gonzalez and midfielder Jovan Kirovski will need to play well.  Donovan and Buddle may not play much on Saturday against Toronto in the sports betting soccer match since head coach Bruce Arena would not want either player getting hurt. It could be that Clint Mathis and Tristan Bowen see more playing time.

The Galaxy have a nice lead in the West with their 22 points but it is still early in the MLS sports betting season. The Galaxy lead the league in goals scored with 15 and they lead the league in fewest goals allowed as they have let in just two all season. "What’s typical of the media and the press is to overreact to a team being real good or real bad," Arena said. "The truth of the matter is the entire league is only eight games in, and there’s no clear points to be made yet. Nobody is real good or real bad yet; you kind of conclude that after 30 games, not after eight games.”

Last year in the early going it was Chivas USA getting off to a strong start in sports betting and it really meant nothing.  Real Salt Lake barely made the playoffs last season but then went on to win the MLS Cup. Arena is happy with the good start though. "With the wins," he said. "There’s often times where you play well and don’t get a result, and we’re getting results. That’s what impresses me the most. That’s a pretty good ratio, seven (victories) out of eight games." Internet sports betting stats indicated that Buddle was leading the league in goals with nine while Donovan led the league in assists with nine.
