Flu Hits #1 Florida in Sportbetting

Sportbetting has the top team in college football, the Florida Gators dealing with the flu this week. The Gators had to keep six more players out of practice Tuesday because of flu-like symptoms. Sports betting online has the Gators as more than three-touchdown favorites at Kentucky this week.

Sportbetting notes that Florida starting linebacker A.J. Jones was among the players feeling the effects of flu-like symptoms. Receivers coach Billy Gonzales was back at practice on Tuesday wearing gloves and a mask. The Gators were missing defensive back Josh Evans, receiver Justin Williams, running back Mike Gillislee, defensive end Earl Okine and walk-on offensive lineman Shawn Schmieder as sportbetting information indicated. “We’re all right,” head coach Urban Meyer said. “We’ve just got to get ready. We’re doing what we’ve got to do. What we can control, we control. Guys are wiping down everything. We’re doing everything we can. I think we’ll be all right.”

The Gators were missing running back Jeff Demps, tight end Aaron Hernandez and defensive end Jermaine Cunningham earlier this sports betting online week, as they had flu-like symptoms. “They’re still not 100 percent,” Meyer said. “We had six others come down today with it, so we’re battling a little bit right now.”

Injuries are also a concern for Florida as sportbetting had it. Linebacker Brandon Spikes has an Achilles tendon injury as sports betting online notes, while receiver Deonte Thompson has a tender hamstring. Meyer is hopeful that Thompson can play on Saturday. “They ran him again today and he’s feeling really good, but I’m just kind of cautious right now,” Meyer said. “We didn’t hit the mark last week, so I want to hit the mark this week.”

The Gators won last week against Tennessee but they did not cover the sportbetting odds. Many have said that the flu could have been part of the reason the Gators looked a little bit lackluster against the Vols. This week the Gators have what should be an easier game as they face Kentucky in sportbetting action. The game is one that can be seen on ESPN 2 and should attract some good sportbetting attention from college football betting gamblers at the sportsbook. The Gators have been a very good team on the road in sports betting online odds so they could cover the three-touchdown spread at the sportsbook even with some players under the weather.
