There have been 21 previous races at Sonoma and the pole sitter has won five times. Starting in the Top 10 is a must as 16 of the previous 21 winners have started in the Top 10. It is normally difficult to pass on a road course and drivers have a tough time making up ground if they start too far back in the field.
This is the 16th race in the 36 race NASCAR season. Kevin Harvick leads the point’s race by 22 over Kyle Busch.
