Baseball Sports Betting Run Lines at SBG Global

November 2nd, 2021 Online Sports Betting Odds Line

Sports betting during the summer for most gamblers will focus on baseball. One of the options in baseball sports betting is the run line. Is the run line a good option to consider in baseball sports betting odds? Sports betting run lines are ignored by most sports bettors and that is too bad because there can be value in them. Run lines were made so that sports betting gamblers that liked the favorites could risk a lower amount in exchange for laying an extra run. The reason that run lines could be profitable is that they usually give sports betting gamblers an advantage on the money line if you are laying the run and a half.

For example, the Yankees could be -170 on the money line but +110 on the run line. The only way the run line would not be a good bet in this situation is if the Yankees win by just one run. If the Yankees lose the game outright, you save money by playing the run line instead of the regular sports betting odds. If the Yankees win by more than a run, you get +110 instead of +100. The example can be even greater in sports betting odds if it is a minor favorite of -150 or less and the run line is +150 or more. Then the return is even better if you bet the run line.

You also have the option as a sports betting player of taking the run and a half. The problem with taking the run and a half in baseball sports betting, and not that many people do it, is that the only way taking the run and a half would benefit you in baseball is if your team loses by exactly one run. Any other situation and it is not a good bet in sports betting. If the underdog wins outright, you get a lot more money on the money line than the run line in sports betting odds. If they lose you are only losing the flat bet instead of the extra money. There just aren’t very many times when you want to take the extra run and a half in baseball sports betting.

Some sports betting players are going to say that you should only play the run line when your team is on the road. While this seems like a better bet in baseball sports betting, because you are getting 9 at bats instead of 8, betting the road teams on the run line is no better than taking the home teams.
