Sportbetting had the American League Gold Glove winners being announced. The World Champion New York Yankees had two players that won awards in shortstop Derek Jeter who won his fourth while Mark Teixeira won as well. Jeter and Teixeira were part of a New York team that dispatched of the Phillies in sports betting online action to win the World Series.

Sportbetting had Torii Hunter of the Angels and Seattle’s Ichiro Suzuki winning as well.  Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria won a Gold Glove for the first time along with Baltimore outfielder Adam Jones and Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle.  American league Also winning were Minnesota catcher Joe Mauer and Detroit second baseman Placido Polanco.

The voting was a little weird in sportbetting for the Gold Glove.  Mauer is known more for his hitting than his fielding as is Teixeira. It is hard to argue with Teixeira though as he made a number of super plays all season. Polanco is a weird choice as well as sportbetting shows. He only made two errors during this sports betting online season but had nowhere near the range of some other players including last year’s winner Dustin Pedroia who probably should have won again.

The outfield awards went to Hunter and Suzki who have won eight straight years. They won the Gold Glove this year based upon reputation. Suzuki was nowhere near as good as in previous sports betting online years and Hunter has seen his best years as well.  Franklin Gutierrez probably should have won the award.  Adam Jones is young and exciting but he was nothing special either this sports betting online baseball season.  There is no doubt that Longoria and Buehrle were deserving winners as sportbetting indicates.

In other baseball sportbetting news, Vin Scully will be calling games again for the Los Angeles Dodgers next season. Scully turns 82 this month and has said he will decide next year whether or not to continue past 2010.  Scully had said he would retire after this sportbetting season but changed his mind. “I still love the job. I’m trying to figure out if I can walk away,” he said to the AP. “I’m the horse pulling the wagon with a lot of people on the wagon, so I’m really not sure. God willing, I’ll do next year and then we’ll just have to wait and see.”
