AL Central Title on the Line Online Sport Betting

Online sport betting in baseball is focused on the American League Central Division this week as the Detroit Tigers play host to the Minnesota Twins. The teams were rained out on Monday so had to play a doubleheader on Tuesday. Sportsbetting favors the Tigers in this series but the Twins can be a dangerous online betting underdog as they won the first game of the four-game series.

Online sport betting had the Tigers with a two-game lead in the division before the series began. For the Twins to have a realistic chance at winning the division they would need to win three of the four games in online betting. That would get them even with the Tigers with three games remaining in the sportsbook baseball betting season. The problem for Minnesota in online sport betting is that they have to face Kansas City pitcher Zach Grienke in the final series and Grienke is the probable Cy Young winner AL Central. The Twins lost to him last week in online sport betting so facing him again is no bargain.

Minnesota has definitely played better of late than Detroit and that is why the division is now up for grabs. Just a few weeks ago the Tigers had a seven-game lead in the division. Detroit has been leading the division since May 10th. In MLB history, no team has ever lost a division title in the last week after leading for so long. “I thought it would go down to the wire and obviously that’s going to be the case,” Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. “I hope my players have some butterflies, but there’s a difference between nervous and scared.”

Detroit has been a very good home team this season but Minnesota already stole the first game in the online sport betting series and could win more. The Twins have Carl Pavano going on Wednesday in sportsbetting against Eddie Bonine while Scott Baker matches up against Nate Robertson on Thursday. Both of those sportsbetting matchups seem to favor the Twins. Pavano has won 13 games this season while Baker is a 14-game online sport betting winner. Neither Bonine nor Robertson inspires much confidence if you are going to wager on Detroit in online sport betting at the sportsbook.

The Tigers and Twins will be interesting to follow in sportsbetting this week with a playoff spot on the line.
