Preakness Stakes Wagering all about Big Brown at SBG Global

Preakness Stakes wagering in 2008 will be all about Big Brown. The powerful Kentucky Derby winner will be a heavy Preakness wagering favorite. The Preakness Stakes wagering odds on Big Brown could be 2-5 or lower. Let’s take a look at 2008 Preakness Stakes wagering.

Preakness Stakes wagering almost always has the Kentucky Derby winner favored and in 2008 that will really show up. Preakness wagering in 2008 will be overwhelming in the favor of Big Brown. Preakness wagering on Big Brown may be so heavy that every other horse in the field goes off at double-digit odds. Big Brown is so heavily respected in Preakness Stakes wagering that it is very likely that none of the other 19 horses in the Kentucky Derby will even enter the Preakness wagering field.

Preakness wagering history has shown that horses that win the Preakness started in the Kentucky Derby. Since Big Brown is likely the only horse from the Derby to be part of 2008 Preakness wagering, it is likely that Big Brown will get a lot of Preakness wagering action. Eight new horses are expected to challenge Big Brown in Preakness Stakes wagering. They are Lexington Stakes winner Behindatthebar, El Gato Malo, Kentucky Bear, Tres Borrachos, Giant Moon, Stevil, Yankee Victor and Harlem Rocker.

The Preakness wagering field may not be much better than the Kentucky Derby field which Big Brown’s trainer Rick Dutrow said was weak. “I don’t see that he beat a great Derby field so I don’t know how to judge things,” Dutrow said. “Like Secretariat, that was the best crop I’ve seen in my life and he beat them, he took them to the cleaners every time he ran against them. I’m not one to compare with past horses. It just wasn’t a strong Derby field other than our horse.”

While Big Brown will be the Preakness Stakes wagering favorite, his trainer knows that Triple Crown talk is still premature. “I won’t think about that until after the Preakness,” he said. Dutrow may not want to talk about it but racing fans sure are hoping Big Brown is a Triple Crown winner.
