Preakness Stakes Betting – Morning Line Odds

Preakness Stakes Betting – Morning Line Odds. He is followed in Preakness betting by beaten Derby favorite Dialed In at 9-2 and Derby third place finisher Mucho Macho Man at 6-1. Here is a look at all of the odds and information for Saturday’s race.

The morning line odds were made by Pimlico Race Course odds maker Frank Carulli.  It was not a surprise to see Animal Kingdom made the favorite although it was thought he might be 5-2 instead of 2-1 although there is not much difference. Dialed In might be a little low in the odds at 9-2 considering he showed very little in the Derby.  Mucho Macho Man is probably about right at 6-1.  All of the other horses in Preakness betting are listed with double-digit odds.  It will be interesting to see how the odds move on Saturday at Sbg global.com as one of the longshots should emerge as a serious contender with the public.

Post Positions
All three of the favorites are starting together and there does not seem to be much of a post advantage. Animal Kingdom is starting from the outside in post #11 and only one other horse has won from that post and that was Tabasco Cat in 1994.  Animal Kingdom is a closer so the outside post is no big deal.  Dialed In is also a closer and he will be right on the inside of Animal Kingdom in post #10.  Mucho Macho Man will be on the inside of those two in post #9.
