Will Preakness Betting be Lucky on Saturday?

Preakness betting odds list Lookin at Lucky as the second choice at 3-1 on the morning line. The horse went off as the favorite in the Kentucky Derby but he will be the second choice in Preakness odds behind Derby winner Super Saver.

Preakness betting numbers have Lookin at Lucky as a major contender to win Saturday’s Preakness.  The horse will not have to deal with a crowded field this time, he doesn’t have the rail and he finally gets rid of jockey Garrett Gomez who continually got him into trouble.  Trainer Bob Baffert is going with Martin Garcia in the irons on Saturday and any jockey would be better than Gomez on this horse.  Gomez is a great jockey but he simply has not ridden this horse well the last two times.

In the Preakness News it will be Lookin at Lucky starting from post position number seven which is about as good as you can get.  Just outside of him will be Super Saver in the eighth post.  There will only be 12 horses in the field and that should help Lookin at Lucky. With a good post, a new jockey and a smaller field, it is possible that the Preakness will be lucky for Baffert.

“I am so relieved,’’ Baffert said about the post position.

Lookin at Lucky was supposed to be the horse that won the Derby and had a shot at a Triple Crown but things just haven’t gone well for Baffert’s horse.  There should be no excuses in Preakness odds. “I’m just glad that the horse finally drew a decent post position,’’ Baffert said. “Now he’s going to have to run hard. The way he has been training, I don’t see it not happening.’’

Here is a look at the 12 horses in Preakness betting with their post position and morning line odds.
