Mine That Bird & Preakness Stakes Wagering at SBG Global

Preakness Stakes odds this year will not be in favor of a Triple Crown since Mine That Bird is not favored in the Preakness. Preakness Stakes wagering at the sportsbook is not going to be popular on Mine That Bird, despite the horse winning the Derby. Mine That Bird was 50-1 in the Derby and was the second longest shot in history to win the race. Most online betting gamblers that look at Preakness Stakes odds are discounting his chances of winning the Preakness. Mine That Bird looks to have a better chance to win the Belmont Stakes but his Triple Crown chances should end before that race is even run as he falls in Preakness Stakes wagering.

Everything that could possibly go right for Mine That Bird in the Derby went his way. The favorite scratched, the track was muddy, and he got a dream ride at the rail. It is highly unlikely those events will occur again in Preakness Stakes wagering. Let’s look back at Preakness Stakes wagering history to see if Mine That Bird really has a chance in Preakness Stakes odds.

When Giacomo won the Kentucky Derby in 2006 at 50-1 odds there were at least a few online sports betting gamblers that were not shocked. He had a great jockey, a nice prep and a few people actually picked him to win. And he still didn’t win in Preakness Stakes wagering that year. This time, Mine That Bird has very few people in Preakness Stakes wagering that believe his win in the Derby was anything but a fluke. Almost every Preakness Stakes wagering expert had this horse finishing poorly in the Derby including his own trainer. Lighting strikes once but getting it to strike again in the same place is very unlikely and that is what would need to happen for Mine That Bird to win in Preakness Stakes wagering.

Mine That Bird does have a jockey in Calvin Borel that people really like, a down to earth trainer and perhaps a closing kick that makes him attractive in longer races but not in Preakness Stakes odds. Those positives are not enough though to like him at Pimlico in Preakness Stakes wagering where speed matters and closing kicks rarely do.

Mine That Bird is a nice story but history and talent really don’t support Mine That Bird in terms of Preakness Stakes wagering.  Open an Account and start betting on the 2009 Preakness Stakes at SBG Global!
