Ignoring Troubled Trips in 2010 Preakness Odds

2010 Preakness odds handicapping is as much about what to avoid as to what to make a big deal out of when looking for a Preakness Stakes betting candidate. Success will often come through unconventional thought and the ability to see past and ignore the heavy overload of hype.

2010 Preakness odds and the handicapping angles will take on a life of their own and are so utterly predictable.   The public will immediately gravitate towards the Kentucky Derby winner after being hammered for two weeks about its Triple Crown winning potential.  More often than not the Derby winner will be touted as the next potential horse of the decade, if not century.

Those who find the best success, however, with the 2010 Preakness odds will simply ignore all of the Super Bowl type hype and instead focus on key elements that can lead to a big payout on Preakness Day.  One of the key elements of that handicapping success is forgiveness and a big picture outlook.  Too many gamblers simply hold too hard of a grudge against a horse that may have lost his last race through no fault of his own.

You will quickly notice, when studying the past performance charts, how many horses that were favored for that race end up in some kind of trouble or incident in which there was no avoiding and with nothing that could have been done to get out of the situation.  Sometimes in a horse race there are no good options and a bad break can cost an otherwise solid horse the chance to go to the wire.

Look for words on the past performance chart that indicate the horse was blocked off or checked, not given room to maneuver, or indicate a poor start out of the gate.  These are all indicative of factors that did nothing to take away from the horse’s ability to win the race.

By being able to get over a bad performance based on bad luck by a horse you will be able to often steal yourself some value on the Preakness Stakes betting board that otherwise would not have been available.  You are also putting yourself on the side of the track and against the masses which is always a good place to be on Preakness Day.  Celebrate opportunities such as this overhype and win on Saturday, May 15th.
