Consider the Exotics in 2010 Preakness Odds

2010 Preakness odds give you a lot of different choices including the exotics.  You don’t just have to bet a horse to win, place or show in Preakness Stakes betting.  Let’s take a look at the exotic wagers for this year’s Preakness.

2010 Preakness odds are likely to favor the Kentucky Derby winner. This horse will be trying to stay alive for the Triple Crown.  You can bet this horse or any other horse to win, place and show. You can also bet the exotics with wagers on the exacta, quinella, trifecta and superfecta.  Those that are betting the Preakness are going to be the Derby winner. He will be overvalued but he can win. If you like the Derby winner then you will not be getting fair odds but that doesn’t mean the horse can’t win.

Keep in mind with 2010 Preakness odds that the Preakness is the shortest of the three races.  It also has a much smaller field than the Kentucky Derby.  If you like the Derby winner you can start by keying that horse in exacta, trifecta and superfectas.  If you don’t like the horse then you have a lot more choices in Preakness Stakes betting. If you are looking for a big score like you saw in the Derby you should realize it is not going to happen very often.  The Preakness has a much smaller field and the payoffs are simply not as big even when a longshot wins.  Even if the Derby winner doesn’t finish in the top three, which is rare, the exotics are still not going to pay huge.

When you bet the Preakness you are looking to make money.  You can bet the favorite and have a chance to win a little or you can take a shot with the exotics.  Oftentimes you can make a little bit by betting some of the exotic wagers.  You might even look at the Pick three and Pick four as they are likely to include the Preakness.  Exotic wagers make it possible to win some decent money.  You are not likely to have a chance at a huge payoff as in the Derby but you can still hit a nice ticket.  There are great options for betting the Preakness and you don’t want to ignore them.  Consider the exacta, quinella, trifecta and superfecta as you bet the Preakness on Saturday, May 15th.
