Presidential race dominates political betting at SBG Global

December 1, 2010 Political Betting

Political betting is a pretty new development in wagering circles and with many betting sites, odds are now available for a wide array of events.

But right now with the race for the White House heating up, the presidential race has dominated political betting and other races have fallen off the betting board. Political betting has for many reasons not become the main attraction for most gambling web sites. The simple that most elections are local prevents most other politics betting events from gaining much appeal in a broader sense.

With the exception of a high profile race such as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial race, this type of politics betting fails to find footing in the larger political betting arena. But when a national race, such a the presidential political betting, comes about, you can be sure that it will take center stage, not only in the politics betting, but also in the broader world of wagering.

The reason for this of course is that everyone, whether they’re traditional political betting fans, or simply drawn to it due to all the media hype, has a stake in the results of presidential political betting. Whereas most political betting races are focused at a state or district level, such as in Congress, the presidential political betting affects every citizen of the US. And as the world becomes more globalized the political betting in the US now has an affect to a much greater extent in other parts of the world as well.

This year’s presidential political betting has been the most popular politics betting event in the history of civilization. More people are betting on this year’s race to the White House than any other political betting event in history. And that can only be a good thing. Obviously, it’s good for the online betting industry and good for fans of political betting as there is now a much broader pool of information to draw from. But it’s also great for the civics of a nation which has been in decline for decades in terms of voter turnout and this new found interest in political betting could help bring more people to the polls and take an active interest in their country’s politics.
