The WSOP announces it’s dates for 2016

The granddaddy of all poker tournaments has recently announced the dates for the 47th World Series Of Poker (WSOP). This year the famous and prestigious even will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Tuesday, May 31st. And as usual the world of poker and online poker will set their calendar for the best time in Poker action.

As it normally is, the WSOP features a full schedule of many different events that has a little something for everyone. During this time participating players will be able to play in gold bracelet events, cash games, satellites and the deep stack tournaments that have become so popular among players. 50 consecutive days of the best poker in the world, until Monday July 18th when the final nine players reach the main event.

 

The WSOP will also feature the single largest live poker event: The Colusus II. Taking a page of the massive popularity of the first version, the 2016 edition has been restored to grow even bigger this year. The Colossus II will also offer a much large prize pool, the first edition had a $5 million, this year it will have $7, plus two additional entry flights, and a guaranteed $1 million price for first place.

This massive event, will very likely draw the attention of poker players all over the world, as members of online poker sites are getting ready to make the trip to Las Vegas. Colussus II poker tournament will have a $565 buy-in and re-entry fee, allowing players that are knocked out in early stages to return to the game.

Other popular events that are returning to the 2016 edition of the WSOP are the Senior Event, the Ladies Championship, the Little One for One Drop, the Millionaire maker and the Monster Stack. All scheduled through out the event’s dates. Also online poker tournaments will also take place.

Also, during the most important poker event of the summer will also feature constant live tournaments at the Rio Casino with Buy-ins as low as $75. As stated on the WSOP website, May 31st will see the kick off for cash games and they will go on for 24 hours a day all through out the seven week series. This will be held specifically in the world famous Convention Center in the Rio Hotel.

If you are planning on making a trip to Las Vegas to be a part of the WSOP, please keep in mind that room reservations are currently being accepted all over Las Vegas and specially Caesar’s hotels. Also, pre-registration for the events will be available until March, when all of the events are determined and submitted to the regulators and approved.

The 2015 version of the WSOP had a total of 103,512 entrants, the largest in the event’s history and poker tournaments in the world, with participants from all corners of the globe. This year, organizers are hoping to draw in a larger amount of entries, making this the most important tournament in the world. To illustrate it, the WSOP is like a mixture of Woodstock, The Super Bowl, the World Cup of poker… all wrapped into one.
