Three-Way Online Wagering Race in Premier League

December 1st, 2021 Online Wagering

Online wagering in the Premier League is all about Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Each team has seven matches remaining and United has a one point lead over Chelsea with Arsenal two points back.  The match of the year in the Premier League at online wagering companies is likely to be on Saturday, April 3rd when Manchester United hosts Chelsea.

Online wagering still favors United to win the title. It won’t be easy though and the match against Chelsea on Saturday is the key to the season.  Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti said he believes 86 points will be needed to win the title. “I think we need to get to 86 points to win the Premier League.” Ancelotti said.  United has 69 points, Chelsea 68 and Arsenal 67 with seven matches left.  The schedule may also favor United but there are not as many guaranteed wins as in the past. “There has been a general leveling upwards, the likes of Spurs, City, Villa and Everton are much better than last season,” said Ancelotti. “And they’ve all taken points from the top teams. That means there is more depth than before.”

If Ancelotti’s prediction is accurate, and 86 points is needed, then Chelsea probably has to run the table.  Chelsea almost has to win the match at United on Saturday to have a chance. The schedule just looks too easy for United if they beat Chelsea.  They have Stoke and Tottenham at home.  They travel to Manchester City, Sunderland, Blackburn and Bolton.  The only possible defeat in online wagering action could be at Manchester City. Chelsea has a tough road even if they get the win at United.  They still have to go to Tottenham and Liverpool.

Arsenal probably has to run the table or get six wins and a draw.  That would give them 86 points.  Not all of their matches will be easy, especially against Tottenham.  The matches at Blackburn and Birmingham City are no guaranteed wins in online wagering.

Did you notice that Tottenham is playing all three title contenders?  Tottenham is fourth in the Premier League and they are capable of stealing points against any of the top three teams.  While the attention at online wagering companies is on the match between Chelsea and Manchester United on Saturday, it could be that Tottenham is the team that ultimately decides who wins the title.
