Stars Rest for the Playoffs, Online Wagering Odds Move

Stars Rest for the Playoffs, Online Wagering Odds Move. Online wagering on NBA Playoff action begins on Saturday but before then there is regular season action continuing through Wednesday. Many of the league’s top players including Kobe Bryant and LeBron James have been sitting out and that has made for volatile odds at online wagering companies.

Online wagering odds are heavily impacted by star players. When Kobe or LeBron is out of the lineup the NBA odds are greatly impacted.  The Cavaliers and Lakers have clinched the top seeds in their respective conferences so they have nothing to play for as the regular season comes to a close. Resting players before the playoffs is nothing new. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The Lakers can sometimes have trouble getting back into synch after Kobe comes back into the lineup.  Teams can oftentimes struggle with turning the switch back on after resting their players for a few games.

As you look at the NBA schedule on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, you want to look at the lineups for each team.  There are more players that will be rested as teams get ready for the playoffs.  Kobe and LeBron are the big names but other teams that have clinched their playoff position could also rest key players.  This will be a major factor in games on Wednesday night when just about every team in the league is in action.

The final few days of the NBA season are a tough time for oddsmakers at online wagering companies. It is sometimes difficult to predict if teams will use their starting lineups in meaningless games. This is a concern even with teams out of the playoffs as they can decide to play younger players in the last couple of games.  If you are going to bet the NBA the final week of the season you need to be paying attention to the online wagering odds and any movement that occurs throughout the day.

Wednesday is the final day of the regular season and there are likely to be some games where key players are rested. LeBron may not play at Atlanta. Kobe may be held out against the Clippers and there are a number of other games where big name players might not be in action.  Orlando hosts Philadelphia and their big stars may not play.  Pay attention to the lineups on Wednesday as you make your wagers.
