Are The Jets The Best Online Wagering Team In The NFL?

December 6th, 2021 Online Wagering

After a really ugly Week 1 loss to the Ravens (10-9) it seemed like the New York Jets’ 2010 NFL online wagering season was all but over. At least you got that impression if you read a New York paper or tuned into any sports radio station in the city.  But a month later the Jets (4-1) seems to have magically resurrected the season and just might be the best team in the NFL right now.

This offseason the Jets made more headlines than almost any other team and were the loudest and most boisterous squad in the league.  However, since the season got underway this team has put its nose to the grind stone and diligently gone about its business winning 4 straight games and 3 divisional games in the process.

Right now there’s a group of three of four teams in the NFL online wagering action that you might consider as the top team in the NFL and the Jets are definitely in that elite group.

With a quality win over the new look Vikings with Randy Moss on Monday night this team proved it’s one of the best by coming through in crunch time and the running game sealing the deal.

The only other team’s that compare favorably to the Jets are the aforementioned Ravens (4-1) and the Steelers (4-1).  The Ravens have played the hardest schedule of the three and beaten both of these teams and so might have the upper hand.  But I certainly wouldn’t want to make an online wager against the Jets in any rematch.

Right now the Jets offense inexplicably ranks #4 in the NFL averaging 27 points per game and once again leads the NFL in rushing with a terrific offensive line and 165.2 yards a game on the ground.

The defense has never been an issue and ranks 6th in the NFL online wagering action giving up just 16.2 ppg and that’s without injured CB Darelle Revis.

The most surprising thing about the Jets right now is not that they’re playing well or that the defense is dominating or even that the offense is ranked in the top 4.  The most surprising thing about the Jets is the passing game and the play of QB Mark Sanchez.

Granted Sanchez won’t light up your fantasy league (just 180.4 passing yards per game) but five weeks into the season he has 8 TDs and has yet to throw an INT –the only starting QB in the NFL online wagering action that can make that claim.  And if he can keep the slate clean this team will go deep into the playoffs.
