Stunning Developments in Week 2 of NFL Online Wagering Action

December 7th, 2021 Online Wagering

The NFL online wagering season is just two weeks old and already there are some very interesting story lines beginning to develop. It seems no matter how hard you try you can never quite figure out the NFL and that’s probably why this sport is so popular among sports fans.

Every year there is a handful of teams that are supposed to win and then fail spectacularly.  And there’s always a small group of teams that are sure fire losers in the preseason that somehow spring to life and end up being one of the best teams in the league once the online wagering action finally comes to a conclusion.

This year, through two weeks of NFL action we have certainly seen this scenario play out. Take for the Dallas Cowboys and the Minnesota Vikings.  Both of these teams were among the favorites of the online ageing companies to make it to the Super Bowl before the season begin and both are now 0-2 and searching for a way to win.

Both teams are loaded with talent and both are coming off a playoff season in ’09 but something simply isn’t clicking this season.  For the Vikings the passing game has been the killer with QB Brett Favre tossing 3 INTs and 0 TDs in their most recent loss.  Favre is rusty and his receiving corps has been decimated by injuries (Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin).

For the Cowboys there’s been enough blame to share equally among the team with QB Romo looking great at times, awful at others and ultimately a defense that has given up late scores in both its losses and 40 points in 2 games.

Both of these teams are going to have an uphill battle to the playoffs if they don’t’ fix their problems soon. But the flipside to this is the surprising success of several other teams in the NFL online wagering action.  Both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 2-0 heading into Week 3 of the NFL action.  Two wins has been the almost the average win total for the entire season for these two struggling franchises over the past few years.

But don’t get fooled into thinking these are good teams.  They beaten up on some very bad teams (Browns and Panthers) and while both teams are improved neither is likely to finish the NFL online wagering season above .500.
