Online Wagering: Stiff Competition in ACC College Football Action. The past few years may not have been exactly easy going for the ACC but this conference continues to place teams in the Top 25 at year end and this year, heading into the online wagering college football season, this conference is poised to have one of its best seasons yet.
A relative new contender to the online college football wagering circuit the ACC expanded to include some top traditional powers such as the University of Miami and other schools but the conference long known for its basketball has yet to fulfill its potential when it comes to placing an online wager on the grid iron.However, entering the 2010 college football online wagering preseason this conference is poised to have a breakout year with as many as five teams from the ACC ranked in the top 25 in various college preseason football rankings.
Virginia Tech has been an ACC powerhouse over the past decade and once again will headline this conference. Head Coach Rich Beam has done it over and over again with tough defense and superstar athletes on offense. This year seasoned QB Tyrod Taylor will be looking to keeps his team in the national championship hunt and with many returning starters this could be the year the Hokies are back in the BCS hunt.
Another team rich in tradition but short on online wagering victories in the recent years, the University of Miami has re-loaded with local talent under the direction of Randy Shannon, and has a Heisman candidate in junior QB Jacory Harris. This team is loaded with athletes and if it can get through a very difficult 4-game stretch to open the season with only one loss or less against ranked opponents it will be in contention for a national title if it wins out.
One of those ranked opponents in the early portion of the online wagering season is state rival Florida State. FSU has been in the gutter for the past few seasons but with a Heisman candidate of its own in QB and top NFL prospect Christian Ponder this team is also loaded with athletes and posses a dangerous passing game when Ponder is in top form.
Between these three teams, the ACC has three legitimate contenders for a national title and offers plenty of great opportunities to make an online wager this fall.
