NFL Online Wagering Snapshot: QB Controversy Lives On In Philly.  Andy Reid has been living a coach’ worst nightmare, at least that’s what you might gather from reading the sports media, online wagering blogs and other media outlets.

The one thing that he tried like mad to avoid this offseason and the one thing that he based the most difficult decisions of his coaching career around –a QB controversy- has reared its ugly head anyway.

And, surprisingly, the results haven’t been all that bad.

Reid is a pretty mellow fellow and if any head coach can handle a scrum at the QB position and perhaps the angriest fans in the NFL it’s him.

He may be the only head coach in football who tries to spin the situation into something positive and that people actually believe, because for the most part it has been a positive situation for the Eagles.

Still, if history is any reference to go by, ‘QB controversies’ –if that’s what the situation in Philly is, are like nitroglycerin: they must be handled with care and sooner or later they blow up in your face.

But Reid has done a masterful balancing the skills of two very talented and two very different QBs and getting the most out of each player and the most for his team in the NFL wagering online competition.

Kevin Kolb, for better or worse, was anointed as the future of the franchise this summer when the Eagles traded one of the top QBs in the NFL online wagering action.  He lasted a little over one quarter of NFL action as the starter before he was knocked out of the first game of the season and Michael Vick stole his job.

Vick has been a revelation so during the 2010 NFL wagering online action –when healthy.  His 108.8 passer rating is tops in the league as his TD/INT ratio of 6/0.  He’s been all but impossible to contain as he leads starting QBs in rushing yards as well (179 yards in 4 games).

But Vicks also been dinged up and it’s been a perfect opportunity for Reid to get a now healthy Kolb some playing time.  Kolb has also been tremendous.  In his last three starts he’s tossed 5 TDs and 2 INTs and racked up nearly 800 yards passing while completing nearly 70% of this passes.

With two QBs playing at such a high level every coach in the NFL online wagering action should be lucky enough to have a ‘QB controversy’.
