Could The Patriots Be The Best Team In the NFL Online Wagering Action?

Could The Patriots Be The Best Team In the NFL Online Wagering Action?. The 2010 NFL season has been as unpredictable as any we’ve seen in years and so it really shouldn’t be all that big of a surprise that the New England Patriots now have the best record in the NFL online wagering action.

With a well executed win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8 of the NFL action the Pats alone atop the league standings with a record of 6-1.  No other team in the league can match the Pats in wins.  The Pittsburgh Steelers had a chance to keep pace but fell to the Saints on the road on Halloween and their record sits at 5-2.  The New York Jets had a chance coming off a bye week in Green Bay but were shut out by a hungry Packers D and now also find themselves at 5-2.

And so once again the Pats are the best team in the league –at least according to online wagering records, until someone beats them. There were more than a few doubters when the season started and New England is not the team that most online wagering companies picked to be in the number one spot as we head toward the midway point of the NFL season.  After all, this team had a myriad of questions about inexperience and lack of size on defense.  Tom Brady stats had fallen last season after the previous season with a busted up knee and no one knew for sure if the knee was completely healthy.

And then when the team traded it’s only deep threat, WR Randy Moss, a month into the season it seemed as if the Pats were throwing in the towel on the 2010 season.

But as the online wagering calendar turns the page on October and heads in October the Pats are the only 1-loss team left in the league.

The Pats have the top offense in the league (29.3 ppg) which is something of a surprise especially when you factor in that the team really has no starting RB on its roster (Ben Jarvis Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead).  Sure, Tom Brady is Tom Brady, but he’s having one his worst statistical seasons on record (just 228 passing yards per game), yet somehow this team keeps scoring week in and week out.

And that’s why they have the #1 ranking in the NFL online wagering action…at least for now.
