NFL Online Wagering Spotlight: Who’s The Best Team Heading into Week 7?

December 13th, 2021 Online Wagering

NFL Online Wagering Spotlight: Who’s The Best Team Heading into Week 7?. Last week the online wagering community was ready to anoint the Baltimore Ravens as the best team in the NFL. After all, in the shortlist of the elite teams in the league the Ravens (then 3-1) had defeated the only other 1-loss teams in that discussion (the New York Jets 5-1, the Pittsburgh Steelers 4-1) and by default were the best team in the league.

And then came the team’s Week 6 loss to the New England Patriots (4-1). The Ravens are now a tarnished (3-2) and just might be the best team in the NFL online wagering when it’s all said and done but for now they drop down the list of top teams in the league.

A quick look at the NFL standings right now reveals that there are only a handful of 1-loss teams left in the league and the New England Patriots (4-1) are surprisingly one of them.  Everyone that follows the NFL action expected this team (and especially the offense) to drop off the face of the earth with WR Randy Moss’ departure.  But as we saw in the Week 6 action this is not a team that you want to make an online wager against.

The Jets, the Steelers and the Pats are now the only teams with 1-loss left in the league.  There are other 2-loss teams that could also be considered in the discussion about the best teams in the NFL online wagering right now but it doesn’t make sense.  This is one of the times when the teams with the best record really are the best teams.

The Jets are coming off a near loss in Denver (24-20 last minute win) but head into a bye week and should comeback with a healthy secondary in the Week 8 action.

The Steelers just got Big Ben back from suspension and his 3 TD performance on Sunday should be evidence enough that he’s ready to play.  Although, the 28-10 win should be taken in context as it came against a 1-5 Browns squad.

And the Pat showed they’re among the best by beating the best team in the NFL online wagering action and the re-acquisition of WR Deion Branch has paid immediate dividends.

But all things being equal the Jets have played the most difficult schedule and emerged with a 5-1 record and therefore should be recognized as the best team in football right now.
