Online Wagering Experts like Armstrong’s Chances in the Tour De France

December 13th, 2021 Online Wagering

The man to beat in the 2010 Tour de France is the same as it was leading up the 2009 Tour de France online wagering action. Spaniard Alberto Contador is the defending champion of the Tour de France and almost every online wagering company’s site lists him as this year’s favorite as well. But he’s hardly a lock and there are several big names in the field that have strong support teams behind them and the ability to take the title from reigning champ –foremost among them American Lance Armstrong.

Armstrong is 7-time Tour de France champion and a legend of cycling online wagering action.  However, he’s now 38-years old, fresh out of retirement and hasn’t won this race in five years.  It’s safe to say he’s not the rider he once was and he’s already announced that this will be his last Tour de France online betting competition.

But that doesn’t mean he can’t win the Tour de France betting this year and he’s listed among the favorites on all the online wagering companies betting sites.  He’s got one of the strongest teams behind him in the field with Tour de France betting veterans like Levi Leipheimer and Andres Kloden riding in support.  Armstrong recently took second at the grueling Tour de Switzerland and is in as good of form as he’s been in years.

Another rider to watch in the Tour de France online wagering action is Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara.  Riding for team Rabo Bank he is perhaps the greatest time trial rider ever but he most likely won’t be able to hang with the top riders once the climbing stages start.  The Schleck brothers will be a great asset to Cancellara in what will be his best shot ever to win the Tour de France betting but he must get better on the climbs.

This is the one area where he lags behind Armstrong and Contador and the mountain stages are likely where these two favorites will settle their differences once and for all.  Both Contador and Armstrong are top climbers and both want to win this year’s Tour de France betting with a burning passion.  Their individual dislike for another should fuel a terrific competition and one of the most exciting Tour de France betting competitions we’ve seen in a while.
