2010-11 Early Heisman Online Wagering Odds

December 13th, 2021 Online Wagering

With less than a month before the college football online wagering action gets underway it’s the perfect moment to start looking through betting lines and sizing up the wagering online opportunities for the season ahead. All the usual suspects are in the running for the college football title and the preseason polls read the same as they do almost every year with a handful of SEC, Big 10, Pac 10 and Big 12 teams dominating the college football polls.

But one NCAA football online wagering category that looks completely different than it did last season is the Heisman Trophy wagering online category.  Many of the players on last year’s Heisman watch list have since graduated, gone to the NFL action or simply had an awful season last year in the college football action.

This year the early leader in the club house on many online wagering sites is last year’s winner Mark Ingram.  But you can basically throw that prediction out the window.  Only the great Archie Griffin has ever won back to back Heisman’s and even playing on a talented Alabama team, Ingram is nowhere good enough to win this award twice.  Last year he won the Trophy basically by default as no one else stepped up and had a strong individual performance in the 2009 college football wagering competition.

Terrelle Pryor of Ohio State is also high on the list but he’s another no-go.  Ohio State may have a good enough to play in a BSC Bowl but Pryor has yet to live up to the hype or his athletic talents and it’s hard to see him winning the Heisman.  Ryan Mallett is also among the top three in the Heisman odds.  He’s a bit of a surprise pick, but likely has a better chance of winning than the two previously mentioned players as he’ll get credit for any of the Razorbacks’ team success.

Three candidates among the top 20 candidates in the Heisman odds that have a great shot at winning the award this year are Miami QB Jacory Harris, FSU QB Christian Ponder and Oregon State RB Jacquizz Rodgers.  All three of these players are on good teams, have the individual talent as well as the team talent around them to win and all three should put up big stats this college football season.
