NCAA Football Online Wager Update: New Polls Show Little Change

December 2nd, 2021 Online Wagering

The first poll of the new NCAA football action was released on Tuesday and for any looking for some insight to make an online wager over the weekend, you’re not likely to find any hidden nuggets of wisdom in this week’s edition of the national rankings.

The top two teams remain the same as Alabama holds down the number one spot and the Ohio State retains its perch at #2.  This could all change very quickly though as the takes on a talented #18 Penn State in Happy Valley on Saturday.  They’ll likely be playing again without injured Heisman Trophy NCAA football winning RB, Mark Ingram and this game should be a real battle a good online wager opportunity.

Likewise the Buckeyes face perhaps their toughest opponent of the season in week two of the online wagering season when they place host to the #12 Miami Hurricanes.  OSU will be favored heading into this game but the ‘Canes will be the fastest and most athletic team on the Buckeye’s schedule and this team will have to bring its A-game if it wasn’t to beat this emerging ACC power.

The Florida Gators were the biggest mover in the top 5 teams (dropping to #8) after a poor showing in the season opener left voters to question their season opening rank of #4 and many fans will now think twice about placing online wager on this team after the Tim Tebow-less offense looked horrendous.

The University of Oregon made a big leap up the boards going from #11 last week to #7 this week in the AP Top 25 after waxing it’s week one opponent, New Mexico, 72-0.  It’s easy to see why the Ducks are the favored team in the Pac-10 this season.
Among other Top 10 teams Boise State’s ranking remained unchanged at #3 even after it’s hard fought road win against the formerly ranked #10 Virginia Tech.  Tech dropped out of the Top 10 with the loss and now resides at #13.

Oklahoma also took a big hit dropping from #7 down to #10 after a very sloppy performance in its first game of the season.  The team could keep sliding this week as it faces a very tough matchup against an intriguing Florida State team in what could be a good opportunity to make an online wager on the Seminoles pulling the upset.
