NFL Online Wager Minute: Carolina Panthers Are Officially the Worst Team in the NFL

December 3rd, 2021 Online Wagering

Not that it comes as any huge surprise to anyone that has made an online on an NFL game this season –especially on a Panthers game- but the Carolina Panthers are officially the worst team in the NFL.

Through 6 weeks of action this team has failed to win a single online wagering contest and has rarely even come close to beating a spread.  The closest game this team has played was surprisingly a 2-point nail biter against the defending Super Bowl champion Saints.

But excluding that near win this team has been pathetic.  The team has scored just 52 points in 5 games and allowed 110 by opponents; in essences the average score for a Panthers’ game this season has been a 10-21 loss.

At 5-0, this team is technically tied with the Buffalo Bills for the worst record in the NFL, but as bad as the Bills are this team is still worse.  The Bills at least have a competent QB in Ryan Fitzpatrick and few legitimately talented players.  In a nut shell, there is at least hope for any Bills fan looking to make a victorious online wager.  The Bills will win a game this year.

The same cannot be said of the hapless Panthers.

The most disappointing thing for the Panthers is that there is absolutely no reason for hope at this point in the season.

The team’s best player, WR Steve Smith, is beginning to show some signs of age but really hasn’t even had the opportunity to have any impact on a game this season as the passing game is so bad and the Panthers QB play so bad that he rarely sees the ball (13 receptions for 174 yards and 2 TDs through 5 games).  In his prime that was a one game total not a 1/3 of a season’s work, but that’s how bad things are going in Carolina right now.

But nothing is a better indicator of the team’s futility than the QB play.  Matt Moore was expected to be the savior of the franchise after jettisoning INT machine Jake Delohomme.  He was yanked after the first game and now rookie Jimmy Clausen is ostensibly the starter.  He’s averaging 90.8 yards a game, 5 yards per pass attempt, 1 TD, 3 INTs, a passer rating of 52.2 and a completion % of 47.3 %.

And that’s the best QB this team has.

Anyone looking to make an online wager on this team is committing sports betting suicide.
