Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-1 on Sunday in online gambling and with the win they virtually wrapped up the Premier League title.
Manchester United is now six points clear of Chelsea with just two matches remaining so they just need a draw to clinch the title. United was a slight favorite on Sunday in soccer odds at Internet gambling companies and came through with their biggest win of the season.
There were some people at Internet gambling companies that gave Chelsea a chance to win on Sunday but it was hard to see why. United has not lost at home all season and only once did another team play them to a draw. United simply wins big games and that was the case again on Sunday as the covered the soccer odds at SBG. Javier Hernandez scored less than a minute into the match and Nemanja Vidic scored 23 minutes later and the match was over. Frank Lampard scored in the 68th minute not that it really mattered. Chelsea needed a victory as even a draw wasn’t going to do them much good. They couldn’t even manage that as United took the 2-1 win. United will now end up winning their fourth Premier League title in the last five years. Their win also ended any chance that Arsenal had. Arsenal disappointed everyone again as they lost 3-1 at Stoke in online gambling to now make it six straight seasons that the team has not won any trophies.
19th English Title
This will be the 19th English title for Manchester United which will put them one ahead of Liverpool all-time. It would be a fitting conclusion for manager Alex Ferguson if he chooses to retire. Ferguson won his first Premier League title with United back in 1992.
There was another title clinched this past weekend as AC Milan won their 18th league title by playing to a scoreless draw with Roma. It is the first championship for AC Milan since 2004. Also in Serie A, Napoli lost 2-1 at Leccee to fall four points behind Inter Milan. Udinese won 2-0 against Lazio and because of that loss Napoli is in position to clinch a place in next year’s Champions League with just one more point in their final two matches. In Scotland, Celtic stayed alive as they won 2-0 at Kilmarnock. Celtics is one point behind Rangers with just two games remaining.
