Online Gambling – Albert Pujols Gives Cardinals a Deadline

December 1st, 2020 Online Gambling

The biggest move of the baseball off-season that could impact online gambling odds is the Boston Red Sox looking to get San Diego first baseman Adrian Gonzalez.

The best player in baseball and the one who impacts online gambling odds at Internet gambling companies the most has given the St. Louis Cardinals a deadline.  First baseman Albert Pujols has given the Cardinals until the start of spring trailing to get a new contract worked out.  If the two sides can’t come to a deal then Pujols has said he will test the free agent market in 2012.

Pujols is Serious
With some players you can just take what they say with a grain of salt but with Pujols that is not the case. He is serious about the deadline of the start of spring training.  If he doesn’t get a new deal then the Cardinals will likely lose the best player in baseball and one of the best of all time.  Pujols is playing this season under a $16 million dollar team option.

Monster Numbers & Monster Contract
Pujols is the best player in the game and has been for a few years now. He led the National League with 42 homers and 118 RBIs last season. He is the face of the Cardinals and a player who would demand a huge amount of money on the free agent market. Most online gambling experts at Internet gambling companies believe that the Cardinals will find a way to sign Pujols but the deadline imposed definitely makes it more interesting.  Gamblers at the Sbg global sportsbook remember the contract that Alex Rodriguez got for $275 million for 10 years.  The contract that Pujols gets will likely be even larger than that one.  Look what Jayson Werth got from the Nationals and what Carl Crawford got from the Red Sox.  They are good players but nowhere near in the class of Pujols.  There is no doubt that Pujols is the greatest player in the last decade.  St. Louis is going to have to pay Pujols in the range of $28 million per year.  It is likely going to be even higher at $30 million a season.  Even at five years, $150 million is a major problem for the Cardinals who already have big contracts including the one they gave to Matt Holliday.  And if the Cardinals don’t give Pujols what he wants then there is no doubt another team will.  What would a team like the Yankees, Angels or Mets be willing to pay for Pujols.  Can you say $300 million for $10 years?
