The soap opera that is the Minnesota Vikings took another turn that surprised gamblers at Internet gambling companies as Minnesota waived wide receiver Randy Moss.
The Minnesota Vikings were routed in NFL odds at Internet gambling companies this past week against the Green Bay Packers and Vikings owner Zygi Wilf had seen enough and fired head coach Brad Childress. It was not an online gambling surprise to see Childress get fired as it should have happened long ago.
Vikings 3-7
The Vikings have been a mess this season and a big part of the problem has been Childress. He mismanaged the Vikings in virtually every game and it was a bad situation in Minnesota. Many of the players wanted Childress fired weeks ago and were relieved that he is finally gone. Leslie Frazier will now be the interim coach for the Vikings.
Favre to Remain the Starter
One of the first questions that Frazier had to answer was who is starting quarterback would be and he made it clear that Brett Favre is going to start this week against the Washington Redskins. Favre has been a big reason why the Vikings have struggled this season. He has played very poorly in most games this year and has 17 interceptions on the season.
Will Minnesota be Improved?
The question for gamblers to answer as they look at the football odds at Internet gambling companies is whether or not the Vikings will be improved. The Vikings were a bad team under Brad Childress this season. Everything went right for Minnesota last season but there were still signs that the Vikings had problems. Childress was just 40-37, including 1-2 in the playoffs. Minnesota was rotten on offense under Childress as they averaged just over 17 points per game. And that is with one of the best running backs in the NFL in Adrian Peterson. The Vikings could be improved now that Childress is gone. The players hated playing for them and all indications are that they like Frazier. Minnesota has some talent on both sides of the ball and if Favre decided to play like an NFL quarterback again instead of an old man then the Vikings could be a team to follow in online gambling as the season continues. Minnesota is definitely capable of winning and covering the odds at SBG in this week’s game against an average Washington Redskins team.
