Next season when you look at the standings in college football at Internet gambling companies for the Big 10 Conference you will see two divisions of six teams each.
The two divisions are named Leaders and Legends. That might sound strange but that is what you will see in online gambling next season in the Big 10.
Big 10 Changes
The Big 10 changed a lot of things for next season with the addition of Nebraska to the conference. The extra team means the conference can have a college football championship game and it also means a split into two divisions. The conference also has a new logo and 18 football awards.
Legends
The Big 10 decided to name one of their divisions the “Legends” division because of the history of the Big 10. Commissioner Jim Delany said that the conference has 215 College Football Hall of Fame members and 15 Heisman Trophy winners. The six teams in the Legends division you will notice on the board in online gambling at Sbgglobal will be Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska and Northwestern
Leaders
Where the Big 10 came up with the nickname for the other conference is unknown but “Leaders” sounds pretty strange. The teams in the “Leaders” Division on the board at Internet gambling companies will be Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin.
The logo for the Big 10 also makes no sense since the conference now has 12 teams. It will be block “Big Ten” as the conference wanted to recognize the history of the conference. The conference did not consider changing the logo to a 12 or changing the name. They admitted that it would have made more sense but of course they didn’t change it. The school presidents are stuck in the past and they could care less that the name makes no sense. They just want their Big 10 history preserved. The Big 10 also added some awards including the Stagg-Paterno Championship Trophy which will go to the winner of the conference title game. They also have awards for an offensive player of the year and a defensive player of the year. They used past players such as Otto Graham, Eddie George, Charles Woodson and others in the trophy names.
