There was not much suspense in online betting as Manchester United routed Schalke on Wednesday to reach the final of the Champions League.
United won the first leg 2-0 on the road and there was no doubt they would win the second leg at home. United did not disappoint gamblers in Internet betting at the Sbg sportsbook as they routed Schalke 4-1 to advance 6-1 on aggregate.
Anderson Scores Twice
Manchester United defeated Schalke 4-1 on Tuesday with basically their second string. That might sound weird but you need to remember that the second string for Manchester United is better than most other team’s first string. Antonio Valencia scored in the 26th minute to open the scoring and he assisted minutes later on Darron Gibson’s goal that made it 2-0. Schalke’s goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is a highly respected goalkeeper but he was not very good on Tuesday. Schalke got their only goal of the match just before the half when Jose Manuel Jurado scored. Anderson scored his two goals in the second half as he took a Nani pass in the 72nd minute and scored and then four minutes later he put in Dimitar Berbatov’s cross. Manager Alex Ferguson rested many of his key players for this match because United has their biggest match of the season on Sunday in the Premier League as they host Chelsea.
Champions League Final
One of the most anticipated matches of the season in Internet betting will take place on Saturday, May 28th at Wembley as Manchester United faces Barcelona. It is a rematch of the final from two years ago that Barcelona won 2-0. The final score was just 2-0 as Samuel Eto’o and Lionel Messi scored for Barcelona but there was never any question which team was better as it easily could have been 4-0 or more. The two teams also played in 2008 in the semifinals of the Champions League and it was a great match that United pulled out by a score of 1-0. You can expect Barcelona to be favored in online betting for this year’s Champions League Final. They have the best player in the world in Lionel Messi. They also have more talent up and down their roster than United. That doesn’t mean United can’t win though. They are extremely well coached by Ferguson and he will have his team ready and playing with revenge for what happened two years ago.
